The song is a poem set to the melodic tunes of a tribe of notes. When you take passion and mold it into a song the results can be profound. So what happens when you take a poem and add a passionate soul?...
She is brave. She is exceptional. She is beauty.
Listen to the words.
I cannot express how much I have grown through the insight of someone’s song. I try to keep topics on this blog positive and in the end I think this is the most positive message for a woman to hear. I also feel this is one of the many points of growth for all of humanity.
The first time I heard Body Love I was sitting at my desk working and the love notes in this song brought me to tears. The spoken word revealed issues of my life that I, and I’m sure many other women have dealt with in their lives. There are definitely some hard truth’s to swallow but the need for them to be spoken and heard is beyond essential, as we are a culture obsessed with the way women look. There is the unattainable idea of beauty that women are expected to fit in.
I recall countless occasions where I have asked the women closets to me to silence the negative self-talk. I affirm this notion by giving gifts like Louise Hay’s audio book Love Your Body. The conversations we have with ourselves is the most important conversation we should ever have. I encourage you to listen to the gift that Mary Lambert sends to all women. Put aside any judgements and ‘love your body the way you’re mother loved your baby feet. ‘
