Eyes chestnut in hue, glossed over and desert dry from scanning website after website of fluffy cotton candy gowns. What am I searching for? Understated? Tasteful? Uncommon? I guess I'll know when I see it.

And at that moment she felt pure captivation and desire. A monument to beaded exquisiteness and lace indulgence.

I am drawn to Jenny's designs like a hummingbird to sweet nectar. She (Jenny) seems to understand design from a perspective of the Art Deco, roaring 20's and 30's innovation and sensibilities. Intricate, yes! Refined, yes! Distinctive, yes! and Yes she designs gowns for really famous people and Yes she is a well known fashion icon but that is not why I have fallen for her.... Take a look for yourself...

Herban!

The body is one of the most remarkable designs in existence. I have become highly sensitive to the fact that what goes into and on my body affects its natural design functionality. So when it comes to body care I can get a little picky. So you can imagine my delight when I came across  Herban while perusing one of Santa Monica’s eco fairs.

Herban is a local company owned by Dana Sue, inspired by stories of her grandmother’s hand-made soap’s, Dana was encouraged to design her own natural body care line. Using natural and organic ingredient, Dana has designed simple products with amazing essential fusions such as grapefruit/sage and eucalyptus/orange (my next purchase!).

I ordered the Herban Essentials so I could sample a little of everything and of course I loved the products! I ordered the lavender scent because I’m a sucker for anything lavender and though I thoroughly enjoyed the clay facial cleanser and the bath soak, my favorite product remains the Body Shae. There is something so special about moisturizer that leaves the skin feeling like silk. After using the Shae my skin was as soft as a baby’s bottom.

Check it out for yourself....

On the coast of York County Maine there is a charming little town were tourist flock during the summer months for fine dining, quaint bed and breakfasts, and quiet bike rides along the coast. But the real charm comes in the form of some exclusive shopping.
The store I absolutely love is called Dannah (fanciful accessories), located in the charming town of Kennebunkport, Maine. One of the best parts about being a woman (and there are many good things about being a woman) is all the fun accessories I get to decorate myself with. The variety of bracelets, earrings, handbags, and scarves is a limitless journey for my personal fashion canvas. Dannah's has a wealth of wearable fashion jewelry, handbags, and more...
The items at Dannah are designed with such care and quality. Check out the earring and necklace set I purchased.... it's a heavy jade color stone with an orange beaded accent.

Dannah's has many unique pieces sprinkled throughout the store. Take a look at this beautiful evening clutch I purchased for around 30 dollars, I love the slight Victorian aspects and the color is an expressive light, moody lavender. I love it!

And to think I almost passed up going into the store on the day we were leaving to head back to CT.

This is a beautiful store with many distinctive, well designed pieces, you'll want to set aside a good couple of hours just to attempt to view all of the accessories Dannah offers.

I love shopping!

Forbidden Fruit

If you’re looking for a one of a kind, well designed gift and you live near Provincetown, Mass. then check out the Forbidden Fruit, described as “Sinfully Elegant Eclectic Oddities”. The store is home to some eccentric and beautiful hand selected products... home decor, art, and antiques just to name a few.

Of course you don’t have to live near Provincetown to shop Forbidden Fruit. Their website is divided into general categories ranging from lighting, jewelry, sculpture and even more specific items like Monkeys or Mermaids. They add new items daily so if you can’t find what you need give them a call they’ll be more than happy to help.
